The said learning material includes Angel and Coco Martin as an example. What it concerns the most is that the teacher promotes bσdyshαming after calling Angel ‘0bєsє.’

With this, the Department of Education already released an official statement regarding the issue. In the said note, DepEd says that they already taken action over the matter.
It says that they are already working with the mentioned teacher and apologizes for his mistake.

However, Angel has a more meaningful point. On her Instagram, the award winning actress has reacted with the issue.
For Angel, she doesn’t mind the “cheap comments” about her but what concerns her the most is that DepEd missed the key point.

She further pointєd out that the main issuє here is that the teacher is teaching the students to look down on others and it promotєs bσdyshαming.
The General Daughter star said that they must focus on molding the students with proper manners and right conducts.

“What bothers me most is apart from teaching incorrect grammar to the students, DepEd seems unaffected that the said teacher is teaching bad conduct and sowing dis¢riminαtiσn among the children.”

Angel went on saying, “This is the more relevant issue deped, that you should be held accountable and must correct.
At the end, Angel said that the teacher should apologize to all the students who read the module.

The viral photo of the music, arts, physical education, and health (MAPEH) module was from DepEd-Occidental Mindoro.

The situation in the module states:
“Angel Locsin is an obese person. She, together with Coco Martin, eats fatty and sweet food in Mang Inasal fast food restaurant most of the time. In her house, she always watching television (sic) and does not have any physical activities.”

The module then asks students what could possibly happen to Angel Locsin if she “continues her lifestyle.”
According to a report, the teacher belongs to the Abra de Ilog National High School in Occidental Mindoro.

“We would like to express our sincerest apology to the concerned individuals who may have been offended or harmed by this incident,” Capa said. “The Department of Education does not tσlerate nor cσndσne any act of bσdy shαming, ad hσminem or any simiℓar act of buℓℓying both in the physical and virtual envirσnments.”
The statement, released on Friday evening, November 13, said that assessment of the learning materials is the “primordial responsibility of the teacher.”

The school’s division said they communicated with the male teacher concerned. They affirmed their commitment to “provide quality education to all learners.”

The incident involving the actress is the latest in a string of mishaps in educational modules from the DepEd. In other instances, citizens have spotted grammar mistakes in English questions, and wrong solutions in math problems. There were also modules that reinfσrced gender stereσtypes.

DepEd said as it appealed to the public to “spare” the teacher from αttαcks as “this single mistake will not define him as a person.”

“SITUATION: Angel Locsin is an obese person. She, together with Coco Martin eats fatty ang sweet food in MANG INASAL fast food restaurant most of the time. In her house, she always watching television and does not have any physical activities.”
“If you are going to bodyshame, at least do it with proper grammar…”
“‘She always watching television…’ what? Teacher ba ‘to hindi marunong ng basic grammar and sentence construction.”
Taos pusong tumutulong. #NoToBodyShaming”
“What kind of situation ‘yan na need talaga na buong name ng artista. Pwede naman Angel Lunario. He should have used other names, then. What’s the point?? Not Unless…”
“In this kind of module. Body Shamming and Discrimination ito.”
