In a Facebook post, netizen Marifel Acas Lagare shared a video showing the brief interaction between Montero and Amelinckx. Their exchange went as follows:
“KC Montero: How are you doing, Pauline?
Pauline (Miss Bohol): I’m doing good. Thank you for asking. How about you?
KC Montero: No one ever ask me questions.”
For some netizens, Montero’s response towards Amelinckx was rude. They also compared it to Montero’s response with Miss Ilo-Ilo, who was also crowned the winner. According to them, Montero was cordial and even strike up a conversation with Mateo.
However, on Twitter, Montero finally cleared the allegations and claimed that the video was edited.
“FYI for the people trying to ruin the Miss Universe Philippines Finale, we shot 5 different endings involving numerous candidates. Some of them were not even in the top 5. Why are you trying to ruin this experience for other people?”
