Raffy Tulfo or Rafael Teshiba Tulfo in real life was born in Davao City on March 12, 1960. He is fluent in English, Tagalog, Bisaya, and a little Spanish. He is the eighth among ten siblings.

His father Ramon Tulfo Sr. is a member of the Philippine American Scout of the Philippines with the rank of colonel. His mother, Caridad Teshiba, is half Filipino and half Japanese. Idol Raffy’s parents are strict in disciplining their children.

The Tulfo brothers were known to be courageous publishers but they grew up respectful, honest, and obedient to their parents. According to their mother, she calls her children to give them a two-hour lecture once a week about honesty and obedience because she wants them to learn the importance of life. She added that disobedience is not tolerated in their home, especially since they are ten siblings and seven of them are men. She was the one who often disciplined the siblings because Col. Ramon Tulfo Sr. rarely came home.

Their mother was naturally religious. She always prays for the protection and well-being of her children and prayer also eases her mood when life is difficult. Idol Raffy is full of prayers for his protection. All kinds of protection were neatly stored in his wallet, car, and home. Idol Raffy said that their career is successful now because of their mother’s prayers.

Idol Raffy inherited his mother’s generous nature. Their mother did not want them to become publishers because it was dangerous and they might be involved with trouble. What their mother wanted was for them to be priests.

Unbeknownst to us all, Raffy Tulfo is a college dropout. He spent four years at various universities and studied various courses such as Economics, Political Science, Agribusiness, and Commerce. But he still hasn’t finished his degree. He then ran a pizza parlor in the United States that he managed and grew up to two branches. But Idol Raffy stopped when it was r0bbed.

Raffy has married Jocelyn Pua Tulfo twice. The first was on June 24, 1993, at the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Luna, Isabela. The second was on January 20, 1995, at Little Quiapo Restaurant in Diliman Quezon City. They had two children named Maricel and Ralph Tulfo.

Despite his courageous personality, he was a loving and caring father to children. According to his daughter Maricel, he was a loving and understanding father. When she was young she was already a Daddy’s girl and she was not afraid to tell her father about her problems, especially in her personal love life. Her father was different in front of the camera compared to in front of family and friends. To her, her father was not just a father but also a close friend.

Meanwhile, in Idol Raffy’s career, he is a Filipino broadcast journalist focused on the government and private sector. His career began in 1993 as the host of ‘Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo’ on the RPN network. He moved the network in 1995 to PTV and hosted ‘Philippines Most Wanted’ again until 2002. He also hosted ‘Task Force Siyasat’ and ‘Problema Mo Sagot Ko’ on the ABC network from 2003 to 2006.

Until he moved to TV5 and hosted ‘Oplan Zero Tambay’ in 2010. Today, he is a host and news anchor on the shows Aksyon sa Tanghali’, ‘One Balita Pilipinas’, ‘Idol in Action’, and ‘Frontline Philippines’. He also hosted a radio program ‘Wanted on Radio’ on DZXL from 1994 to 2011 and moved to Radio 5 92.3 News FM from 2011 to now.

Idol Raffy has become very popular on his YouTube channel ‘Raffy Tulfo in Action’ with over 17 million subscribers. His channel is dedicated to helping our countrymen who complain to him for help or those who are cannot fight back due to lack of money.

Idol Raffy said that they would not have reached the career they have now if not for their mother’s prayers. Idol Raffy didn’t give any information about his house to the public for the safety of himself and his family.
