Nahaharap ngayon sa kontrobersiya ang aktor na si Richard Yap na unang nakilala bilang si ‘Sir Chief’.

Nagsampa ng civil case ang isang 24-anyos na lalaki mula sa Bacoor, Cavite laban kay Yap. Na tatakbong kongresista ng Cebu City 1st District dahil hindi daw siya kinikilala ng aktor bilang anak niya.

Nakilala ang lalaki na si Joshua Paolo Jensen na kasalukuyang nakatira ngayon sa Barangay Sambang II, Cebu City.

Ayon sa salaysay ni Jenson na isinilang noong Oktubre 5, 1997, natatandaan umano niya nang ituro sa kaniya ng inang si Cherymae Valdez Jenson na ang lalaking chef sa Chow King commercial ay ang kaniyang ama, at walang iba kundi si Richard Yap.

12 taong gulang siya nang magsimula siyang hanapin at makipag-ugnayan kay Yap.

“Nagulat ako doon. Hindi na ako tumigil kakahanap sa kaniya. Nag-contact ako through Facebook, social accounts, sa wife niya, sa anak niya, wala po. Blinock lang nila ako. Matagal ko na siyang hinahanap,” saad ni Jenson.

“Wala naman akong masamang intensyon. Ang gusto ko lang naman ay ilaban yung rights ko…Kung talagang totoo yung intensyon niya sa mga Cebuanos, paano nya maayos na maseserbisyohan nya kung sarili nyang anak di nya mapanindigan,” dagdag pa nito.

Ngunit ayon kay Yap, pinopolitika lang daw siya ng kanyang mga kalaban.

“I have never seen him, met him, talked to him ever since.” ani Yap.

Pakiramdam umano niya ay pamumulitika lamang ito lalo’t kumakandidato siya bilang kongresista. Nagtataka siya kung bakit ngayon lamang lumutang ang naturang lalaki gayong matagal na siyang aktibo sa showbiz, matapos ang kaniyang Chow King commercial. Sumikat siya sa teleseryeng ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ bilang Sir Chief, sa una niyang home network (ABS-CBN).

Moreover, the actor is not new to handling troubles and certain situation when it comes to his investments.

But the Kadenang Ginto lead cast said that the pandemic really hit him hard and it actually gave him a hard time to adjust.

On his interview with Toni Gonzaga’s digital show, I Feel U, Richard talked about how he and his family cope up with the quarantine period.

Thankful that all of them are safe, he still can not help but to get sad just by seeing how his employees are getting worried because of the business’ poor stance.

“Yung restaurant business, grabe yung effect doon. It’s given us a lot of hardship especially to all our employees also kasi karamihan walang trabaho.” he explained.

Added RIchard, “Siyempre, saan mo kukunin ‘yung ipambabayad mo ng every day necessities di ba.”

He also said that because of the ABS CBN shutdown, he lost another source of income and a lot of his projects were cancelled as well.

“Alam naman natin na nawalan din tayo ng mga projects because of what happened to our home network. That also caused a lot of stress not only for us but for everyone who’s been working there. Dagdag hirap talaga.”

According to Richard, he and his wife are currently thinking ways on how to save their restaurant by either a new strategy or a new business that will be suitable for the pandemic situation.

“It’s brought us a lot of time to think also and brainstorm. While we are on lockdown, we came up with other ideas and new business also for the kids,” Richard revealed.
