At the age of 56, Ai-ai delas Alas and her husband Gerald Sibayan revealed that they will be parents soon.
Ai Ai said that they decided to get her pregnant through IVF.
Ai Ai said on “Tunay Na Buhay,” relating to the in vitro fertilization (IVF) they started in 2017,
“May embryo na kami.”
They also announced that they will welcome their little bundle of joy this year.
The Comedy Queen said,
“Panalangin, dasal. Nagno-novena kami always, sabay kaming nagno-novena.”
Last January 2020, the actress revealed that she still hopes to get pregnant despite being 56, this is the main reason why she is trying to stay healthy.
But Gerald opposes the idea for a reasonable thing. According to him, it would be unsafe for the Comedy Queen to get pregnant because of her age since she was already at her 50s.
Ai-Ai shared in an interview with Inquirer Entertainment,
“We had an argument recently. He said he didn’t want to bring the issue up with me before because he knew I would just get mad. He said he didn’t want me to get pregnant for health reasons.”
She recalled,
“I eat only organic food and cannot take just any kind of medicine when I’m s1ck. Only recently, I took antib1otics to b4ttle an infection and, as a side effect, I couldn’t move my lips.”
Ai-Ai continued,
“Gerald is worried about what could happen to the baby if I get s1ck while conceiving. He is also concerned about the effect of the medicine to me, in case I need to take some for the baby.”
When asked about her idea of being a surr0gate mother, Ai-ai had no other requirements other than these: “She has to be Filipino and has to have the same blood type as mine.”

The comedy Queen Ai-Ai de las Alas couldn’t help but answer a b@sher who questioned her quiet relationship with her husband Gerald Sibayan. It was last Sunday, July 25, Ai-Ai shared their family picture on her Instagram account. In the said photo, Ai-Ai is with her two children Sophia and Sancho. They also include Sancho’s fiance Shanna Retuya and Sophia’s fiance Vincent Bautista.
In the comments section of the post, a netizen commented about the age gap between Ai-Ai and Gerald. The netizen commented, “Anong tawag ng mga anak mo sa asawa mo? Eh mukang matanda pa po anak mo sa asawa mo? Ask lang.”
The Kapuso star responded, “tawag ko sa asawa ko darl tawag ko sayo TAE HAHAHHAHAA G*G* U*L*!!!”
Even though their age gap is 29 years, it is unusual that this is not a hindrance to their happy marriage. The actress also criticized the netizen’s deletion of her display photo on Instagram.
According to Ai-Ai, it dares to 1nsult her husband since “laki laki ng mukha mo parang kinagat ng ipis.”
She added, “nananahimik pamilya namin sa masayang dinner dami mong sinabi an1m@l!!!!”
Even Ai-Ai’s children answered the netizen.
Sancho said, “ako tawag ko kay @gerald_sibayan kumpadre… tawag namin sa mga katulad mo k*pal.”
Sophia commented, “Gerald. Sayo tawag namin epal”
But, it seems the netizen has not been satisfied and has commented yet again.
The B@sher replied, “Me msama ba kong sinabi ha? Nag tatanong lang nagalit na kayo kagad? Sus.”
Ai-Ai again replied, “Masama ba mag sabi ng totoo na una ang laki ng muka mo pangalawa nanahimik pamilya namin tanong mo pang mal edukado.”
It will be remembered that on December 12, 2017, Ai-Ai and Gerald were married at Christ The King Church in Green Meadows, Quezon City. They celebrated the seventh anniversary of their first meeting it was only April 2021.
