In recent months, the Presidential candidates who will run in the Philippines in the upcoming May 2022 elections became the hot topic on social media, including Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Bongbong Marcos.
It will be recalled that after Robredo and Marcos submitted their certificate of candidacy (COC) to the Comelec, they stated their decision to run for the presidency in the country and their platforms.
However, it seems that many were not happy with Leni’s statement because of its apparent sl@nder against Marcos.
In preaching, a priest, from Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish Church in Valenzuela City, quoted a verse from the Prophet Isaiah about a leader who offered himself for forgiveness. According to the priest, if we are going to choose the leader of our country in the coming election, the leader we choose should only be the one who will give himself to have unity and forgiveness in the country.
The priest said,
“Mula kay Propeta Isaias
“Sinabi ng Panginoon, “Ang kanyang paghihirap ay kalooban ko: Inihandog niya ang sarili upang sa pamamagitan noon ay magkaroon ng kapatawaran.
“Inihahandog ang sarili upang magkaroon ng kapatawaran. Kaya hangga’t maaari kung mayroon tayong pipiliing leader, ‘yong binibigay ang sarili upang magkaroon ng kapatawaran at pagkakaisa. At ang kapatawaran pagkakaisa yan ay nagsisimula sa isang pinuno na ang iniisip ay hindi ‘yung maiangat yung sarili niya kundi maiangat ang kapakanan ng mas nakararami kasi ang pagkakaisa, hindi yan yung ibig sabihin ay lahat nakasuporta sayo, hindi.”
The priest further said that the candidates should not att@ck nor sl@nder their fellow candidates because, at that time, unity already vanished.
He said,
“Kaya yung mga kandidato ngayon pa lang na naninira na ng kapwa kandidato kung nagiging sanhi ka na ng walang pagkakaisa ngayon paano natin aasahan na siya ay magiging sanhi ng pagkakaisa kapag nanalo siya sa eleksyon.
“Tama o mali? Kung ngayon pa lang nagiging simula ka na ng pagkakakawatak, pano ka magiging simula ng pagkakaisa? Kung talagang gusto mo ang pagkakaisa, kung talagang ang gusto mo ay magkaroon ng pagkakaisa ang mga Pilipino, hindi mo papatulan lahat ng isyu tungkol sayo at hindi mo iangat ang sarili mo sa pamamagitan ng pagbagsak sa ibang tao. Anong sabi sa unang pagbasa, inihahandog niya ang kaniyang sarili.”
The priest added that if it is true that you want to serve the people, you will be there with them during times when there are no elections and campaigns.

Arnell Ignacio, Nagbigay Ng Pahayag Kay Willie Revillame Matapos Sabihan Si Leni Robredo
Many admired the loyalty shown by ‘Wowowin’ host Willie Revillame and Arnell Ignacio is one of them. It will be recalled that in an episode of “Tutok to Win sa Wowowin” on Thursday, October 7, Willie spoke about the news spreading that he will run for the Senate in the upcoming elections in May 2022.
According to Willie, he does not see himself fighting and making laws because he did not finish school. He said the people’s vote might just go to waste just in case he wins.
He said,
“Hindi ko po kailangan kumandidato. Hindi ko po kailangan manalo. Ang kailangan ko ay makasama kayo. Dahil sa puso ko, sa isip ko, dapat laging ang mga Pilipino ang panalo.”
With the loyalty and honesty showed by Willie, he earned a lot of praises from many and Arnell Ignacio is just one of them. In a live video on his social media account, Arnell praised Willie for his honesty and courage to admit to the public just what he was capable of. He stated,
“Kahanga-hanga yung sinabi ni Willie Revillame. I was listening to his statement. He makes a lot of sense. And he a breach this maturity to be blessed with the wisdom na malaman niya kung ano ang kaya at kung ano yung hindi.”
Meanwhile, when it comes to celebrities and personalities who have filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 election, Arnell said that kindness and popularity are not enough just when someone enters the world of politics.
He also advised the public when it comes to the candidates they will choose.
Arnel said,
“To be a supporter of a candidate, mahusay yan. Okay yan talaga. Pero by the time that you really have made up your mind to decide to suport anyone, eto ang hanapin mo huwag ka lang kung ano yung sa mabait at saka kwentuhan na pang-Facebook. Ang isipin mo saan mo ba siya ilalagay. Remember, dapat naiintindhan na niya ang istraktura ng gobyerno. Mahahalata mo ‘yan.”
He added,
“Hindi ho ako kaaway hindi niyo ko… wag niyo kong tignan na parang nangongontra sa inyo. Lawakan niyo po at mas maging mapanuri kayo base sa tamang batayan. Hindi lang ho yung kasing nakita niyong namimigay at yung iba sa inyo na oo mabait ka na nararamdaman mo na tulungan mo yung kapwa mo. Okay yan pero pag dinala mo yan sa gobyerno, yang sistemang yan hindi ho uubra. You will be surprised hindi ho pwedeng ganon. ”

Willie Revillame, Nag-Init Ang Ulo Kay VP Leni Robredo
It is undeniable that the running of Leni Robredo and Bongbong Marcos for the presidency in the upcoming May 2022 elections is a hot topic on social media today. It will only be remembered that Bongbong and Leni have already filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) for their plan to run for President of the country in May 2022.
Netizens are divided on this. Some sided with Leni while some were on the side of Bongbong. Even celebrities and personalities also expressed their opinion about this.
In a statement released by Leni, she said she is open to not running in the higher position if it means a better chance of defeat for the bet of Duterte administration as well as Bongbong in the 2022 presidential race.
She said,
“akaka-attest iyong mga kausap ko. Parati kong sinasabi na kapag nag-give way ako, sigurado ako na mumurahin ako ng ibang tao, iyong ibang supporters ko, magagalit sa akin…maraming magtatampo, sasama ‘yung loob. Pero para sa akin, ready akong i-take iyon. ‘Yung backlash, personal ‘yun. Kaya ko iyon.”
Vice President Leni added,
“While I appreciate the support, hindi ako kakandidato to satisfy my supporters [alone]. Kakandidato ako if that is for the best interest of the country. Dapat hindi makabalik si Marcos at hindi magpatuloy ang ganitong klaseng pamumuno. Klaro ‘yun.”
Meanwhile, many netizens didn’t like what Leni said as they feel that the Vice President is just running the higher position to be@t Marcos as well as the Duterte administration’s bet.
In an episode of “Tutok To Win” in GMA-7’s program Wowowin”, TV host Willie Revillame said that those who will run in a higher position or any position should make helping the Filipino people and improving the country as their goal and not competing to their opponent. He said that they should also set a law for the future of the Filipinos and also a law that will eradicate poverty happening in the country.
He said,
“Walang unity. Tatakbo kayo para makaganti sa dating namumuno. Tatakbo tayo para hindi makapasok yung isang mamumuno. Ganun ba? Ganun ba ang pagserbisyo sa bansa natin? ‘Yan ba ang iniisip ng bawat politiko. Hindi ako nagmamagaling. Opinyon ko ho ito dahil sa araw-araw na nasa noontime show ako at araw-araw na may nakadidinig ang boses ko, pambili ng gamot, pang matrikula, pang kain namin.”
The TV host added,
“Dapat yan ang pinag-uusapan niyo sa Senado. Anong bibigay na batas sa mga taong naghihirap. Anong batas ang gagawin niyo. Laging… Ilang batas na ang ginawa niyo pero binabago niyio. Dati may d3ath penalty after d3ath penalty ay gustong ibalik. Pag-iba namumuno, iba na naman. Yung batas ng tyan ng bawat Pilipino, yung batas ng kinabukasan ng bawat bata na walang libro.”
