Julia Barretto, Inulan Ng Batikos Matapos Sabihin Ang Bagay Na Ito Sa Kanyang Ama Na Si Dennis Padilla
Julia Barretto and Dennis Padilla are once again trying to fix their relationship as father and daughter on the actress’ newly uploaded vlog on her Youtube channel.
Dennis opened up about his baggage over Julia wanting to change her surname from Baldivia, Dennis’ real family name, to Barretto way back 2014.
“It’s not the pangalan itself. That’s my blood, kaya masakit iyon.
“Kasi kumbaga, parang… ito ba ang gusto niyo? Barretto na nga ang dala mo sa screen, bakit tatanggalin niyo pa ang apelyido ko? Masakit sa akin iyon,”
Julia explained to her father that she was only correcting the mistakes because her parents ’marriage was null and void.
Dennis married Marjorie Barretto on November 14, 1997, eight months after Julia was born on March 10, 1997.
But apparently, Julia’s petition of changing her surname was not pushed through. Up to date, her real name is still Julia Baldivia.
Julia then talked about the rift between her and her dad.
“I didn’t ever give up on our relationship. I was never, ‘He hurt me. He traumatized me. I’m never gonna try with my relationship with him again.’
“Because if I had given up, we wouldn’t be talking right now. But I kept trying. That was painful for me.
“I was fighting so hard for our relationship despite all the words thrown at me by my own dad. I understand your frustration.”
Added her, “Nobody was talking to you, but you have to look at why aren’t we talking to you. Why were we so scared to talk to you? You have to understand there was so much pain. There was so much fear,”
Aside from Julia, Dennis also has two more kids with Marjorie: Leon and Claudia.
