They talked about their “Encantadia” days in Ruru Madrid’s recent vlog, titled “Real Talk With KyRu,” where Kylie was his guest, and it was such a nice and genuine vlog where both of them clearly had a great time.
Initially, Kylie stated that there was no chemistry between them in the beginning, until one scene where she felt it.
Initially, she even considered, “Sabi ko hindi kami bagay, parang mas bata siya sa akin.”
She later recounted when she first noticed the chemistry between them.
“Yung naramdaman ko talaga yung chemistry natin, yung magki-kiss dapat sila tapos nagising si Pao-Pao.”
“Gusto ko yung eksenang ‘yon, sabi ko bakit ako kinikilig, gusto kong panuorin…Yung ikaw mismo yung kinikilig tapos ramdam mo sa buong set, yung buong set talaga nag-aabang, nakaganun oh.
“Tapos lahat, yung iba nakaganun, eeee”
ON AND OFF CAM BOUNDARIES
Despite their on-screen romance, Kylie and Ruru admitted that while filming “Encantadia,” they kept their distance from one another.
“Inaamin ko naman na mali naman talaga ’yon, kung paano ako before. Kailangan ko lang dumistansya,” Kylie said. “Dumistansya talaga ako nung time na ’yon.”
“Kailangan kong umiwas para walang mag-selos. Syempre respect na lang. Natatakot na ’ko. Ayoko ng gulo both sides,” she added. “Kailangan lang mag-ingat in respect to other people.”
Ruru said he understood totally because they both had companions at the time. Ruru had “someone” when Kylie was with Aljur Abrenica.
“Naiintindihan ko nung mga panahon na ’yon,” he said.
“Ang daming restrictions sa ating dalawa. Kahit sobrang effective sa TV, off-cam, I’m not saying na ’di tayo nag-uusap, pero merong wall lagi,” he added.
“Feeling ko, somehow, naapektuhan,” said Ruru. “Malaking bagay na kapag merong someone, tina-try natin pigilan sarili natin [mag-usap] lalo na baka may mag-selos, which is understandable.”
Despite this, the two expressed their gratitude to one other for assisting them in their professional development. In fact, when Kylie had to leave the show due to her first pregnancy, Ruru admitted he was sad.
Similarly, despite her joy at being a mother, Kylie stated she was pained by what she had to do.
“Happy naman ako kasi gusto kong magka-baby talaga,” she said. “’Yung timing lang talaga kasi gusto ko sana tapusin kasi mahal na mahal ko na ‘Encantadia’ no’n.”
“It was unplanned but I wanted the baby,” she added. “Gusto ko talaga ng family. It just so happened na ’yung timing, medyo napabilis.”
In any case, if another “Encantadia” remake ever comes out, the two stated they’d be up for it.
